Landlord & Tenant

The Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) is a Quasi-judicial tribunal which governs matters concerning residential Landlords and Tenants in the Province of Ontario, in accordance with the Residential Tenancies Act, 2006. (RTA)

In a world of ever-changing economics and dynamics, Landlords who have never had difficulty with Tenants in the past are finding themselves in unexpected disputes which can be extremely stressful and intimidating. Unfortunately, most Landlords are unaware of all of their rights and obligations under the new legislation. To add insult to injury, Landlords cannot access legal advice from the Landlord and Tenant Board, yet Tenants have the benefit of FREE advice and representation by Tenant Duty Counsel, a program funded by Legal Aid Ontario. Landlords too often find themselves at great disadvantage when their Tenant attends the LTB hearing with a Lawyer or Duty Counsel Representative.

Marshall Paralegal will support and guide you through the Landlord and Tenant Process, preparing your applications and documentary evidence with precision and accuracy, which is imperative for success at the Board. Marshall Paralegal will assist you with developing a strategy for a positive outcome of your case, regardless of Tenant tactics and we will represent you at the Hearing.

Marshall Paralegal also provides support and guidance with the drafting of Residential Tenancy Agreements or Leases, in compliance with current legislation. We provide valuable advice and information about your rights and obligations as a Landlord. Even if you have the “perfect” Tenant, there is no better time than the present to speak to an experienced agent to ensure you have everything in order. Don’t wait for a surprise situation to call for help. We urge you to contact us to review your lease or tenancy agreement and to provide you with support and information about being a Landlord.
